"Angel Beunza continues to made the traditional wooden receptacles that were used in this area in days gone by: the “abatza”, used to make cheese and “cuajada” (junket); the "oporra", a cup for drinking “talo” (maize meal) with milk; the "segapoto", where the whetstone used for sharpening scythes was kept; the "aspile", where bread and cornbread were kneaded; and the famous "kaiku", an example of perfect design, used by the shepherds in the valleys for making junket. The "kaiku", "abatza" and "oporra" are all made from birchwood; the "pitxarras", "almaices", "gatzontzi", "aspiles", "topiñe" and "potaxa" are usually made from chestnut, cherry and walnut; the "cucharas" (spoons) from chestnut and cherry; and the "salseras" and "gaztakutxa" from chestnut."
